With 20 years of experience, Silvano continues to delight us with his talent in the art of tattooing, appreciating his dedication all these years, and eagerly anticipating his future projects.

1. How many years have you been in this profession?

I have been tattooing for about 20 years, but I have started drawing since I was a child, so basically I have changed only the support where I paint.

2. I have no doubt that art is a part of you; you embody art in every way! How did it come into your life?

In my opinion art is everything made with love, passion and dedication. I love art in each of its forms and I have a lot of passions, like photography, cooking, painting, and aero graphing, but I have always been fascinated by the world of tattoos and I chose this art form trying to turn it in my job.

3. What role did your early work experiences play in your decision to pursue tattooing?

Before starting my tattoo artist career I did a lot of different jobs, most of them very humble, and I always tried to do all of them at the best, and I tried to treasure every experience. Today it seems to me to have no work because I am doing what I like to do, also if I have to stay at work until late, but it is something that does not weigh me at all, indeed gives me strength.

4. From what sources do you find inspiration to continue evolving creatively?

I always try to evolve myself and my creativity, and this is probably my greatest torment because I am never satisfied and I always try to do something new, but at the same time it is what pushes me to grow and improve myself every time .

I don't want to become the great tattoo artist of the past, I want to be always on the crest of the wave, now and as long as I do this profession.

Hope this will not be misunderstood, for me it isn’t presumption but ambition.

5. What key lesson have you learned as a tattoo studio owner?

I think the key is attention to detail, not just in the tattoo, but 360 degrees. I'm in my studio every day and I always know what's going on in every room, even if I'm tattooing and even if I have a large staff.

In my opinion, if you want to be truly professional in this industry, just being an artist is not enough. Beyond the quality of the tattoos we create, it is equally important to have a clean and fragrant work environment, as well as customer care.

6. What continuous satisfactions has this profession brought you over the years?

Today most of my clients come from every part of the world and this is something that makes me really proud, more than the articles on tattoo magazines and winning the convention I attended.

And there is no satisfaction more than seeing them come back over the years for a new piece.

7. Do you participate in activities other than art, or do you focus exclusively on the artistic field?

Honestly, I have many projects, even those not related to the world of art, my problem is not having enough time to follow them as I would like, i.e. 100%.

The latest one I'm working on, which is very important to me, is a collaboration with my father; we are creating a line of Gin.

8. How is your 2024 progressing?

I can say that my 2024 is going well, and I hope that every year to come will be better and better :)

9. We want to thank you for being a judge in the international DGN TATTOO MAGAZINE competition, 20th edition, demonstrating commitment and dedication to each participating artist. As always, you are a highly professional artist! Thank you for always welcoming us with kindness, for accompanying us for so many years, and for always allowing us to share your story and showcase your art!

I want to say thank you guys, you support me and my art always, DGN Tattoo Magazine is a great quality magazine that deals with good artists and interesting topics.

You are always welcoming to me and I will always try to support your initiatives in the best possible way.

10. If someone wants to contact you, how can they do so?

It’s easy, if someone would like to contact me he can do it through my website or my social media pages, there you can find my email and also the phone number.

11. Any reflections you'd like to share?

A reflection that I would like to share is that today in the world there are many very talented tattoo artists if we talk about technique, but only a few put their soul into their pieces.

This is something that not everyone has and in my opinion it is something that comes from suffering and sacrifice for this job, but this is just my personal opinion.
