Welcome to a captivating conversation with Trâm Đinh, a talented female tattoo artist hailing from Vietnam. Her dedication and passion for the art of tattooing have shaped her life and career in extraordinary ways. Currently based in the bustling city of Hồ Chí Minh, Trâm Đinh has carved an impressive path in the tattoo industry, standing out for her ability to experiment with various styles, such as Neo-Traditional and Fantasy.

Throughout this interview, we will delve into the beginnings of her career, the influences that led her to become an exceptional tattoo artist, and how the global acceptance of her full-body tattoos has marked a significant milestone in her journey.

1.- What inspired you to take your first steps in the world of tattoo art, and what led you to become a tattoo artist?

My journey into the world of tattoo art began in high school, where my passion for tattoos first took root. The flame of inspiration grew even brighter when I got my own first tattoo. It was at that moment I knew I wanted to become a tattoo artist. I took the plunge and started my tattooing journey right after leaving school.

2. - How was the decision-making process to become a tattoo artist?

The decision to become a tattoo artist involved a challenging process, particularly due to significant opposition from my family during that time. It marked one of the most difficult periods of my life. Despite the risks, I was determined to pursue my passion for tattoo art and overcome the obstacles that stood in my way.

3.- Throughout your career, what have been the most significant challenges you've encountered, both externally and internally?

The most substantial challenges in my career, aside from the external opposition from my family, have been internal — specifically, overcoming my own limits. Pushing past personal boundaries has been a constant journey, presenting hurdles that required resilience and self-discovery.

4. - How do you perceive the fact that your full-body tattoos are gaining recognition worldwide? With a presence on various platforms and an audience that continually admires your work, what reflections do you have on this?

I am genuinely thrilled to witness the widespread acceptance of my art on a global scale. Being able to contribute, even in a small way, to the tattoo industry worldwide brings me immense joy. I see tattoos not just as an art form but as a perpetual piece of jewelry that accompanies us throughout life. The fact that this has become a reality is still like a dream to me. I want to express my gratitude to everyone for their support and encouragement. Thank you all for making this journey so remarkable.

5. - Do you engage in other forms of art?

Besides tattooing, I also like drawing and singing.

6. - It's evident that you enjoy experimenting with various styles throughout your career. Could you share if you are currently focused on exploring a particular style or technique?

Certainly, at the moment, my artistic focus lies in the exploration of Neo-Traditional and Fantasy styles. I find immense joy and inspiration in pushing the boundaries within these genres, allowing me to create unique and captivating tattoo art.

7. - If you receive invitations from other countries to participate in conventions or projects alongside fellow artists, are you open to it, or is your schedule too tight for international travel? Additionally, do you have any projects scheduled in your country this year that you can share?

Certainly, I would be thrilled and more than willing to accept invitations for conventions or projects in other countries. However, a significant challenge for me currently is the visa application process, especially for major European countries, given that I am from Vietnam. While I have had the opportunity to travel to various countries in Asia, obtaining visas for European destinations has proven to be quite challenging. This year, I'm excited to share that I will be participating in the SaiGon International Tattoo Expo in March

8. - How do you envision your career in the next few years? Are there specific goals you would like to achieve in the future?

I envision my career evolving positively in the coming years as I strive each day to advance my skills and artistic expression. This year, I have exciting plans to participate in several international conferences, and if I secure a visa, I aspire to extend my reach to conferences in Europe. My immediate focus is on continuous improvement, and I am committed to pushing my boundaries and achieving new milestones in my tattoo artistry journey.

9. - How has tattooing impacted your personal life and your identity as an artist? What does it mean to you to be a female tattoo artist in today's society?

Getting involved in tattooing has profoundly transformed my life, bringing a spectrum of emotions that I cherish. It has become a source of immense happiness for me. Being a female tattoo artist in today's society holds great significance as it showcases the evolving diversity of work, a realm that was previously ventured by only a few women in the past. It's a testament to breaking barriers and expanding the horizons of what is achievable in the field of tattoo artistry.

10.Can you tell us more about your tattoo studio? Where is it located, and how can people get in touch with you if they'd like to schedule an appointment with you?

11. - To conclude our interview, is there anything else you would like to share or any gratitude you'd like to express to your audience, colleagues, or those who have been instrumental in your journey as a tattoo artist?

To reach where I am today, my heartfelt gratitude goes first to the DNG Tattoo team for providing me with the opportunity to share my journey in this interview. I also want to express my sincere thanks to everyone who has been a constant supporter and follower throughout my artistic endeavors. Your encouragement means the world to me.
